This is a thread to talk about the good old days of games. Reminisce about whatever is nostalgic to you, be it the Commodore 64 or Halo 2.

For example: Banjo-Tooie is the greatest 3D platformer.

Remember back when Rare actually cared? It's like someone made a game because they wanted it to be fun or something.
The new one on the 360 (nuts and bolts) was a disappointment. I wish I owned Banjo-Tooie or Banjo-Kazooie but I only ever rented them D:

I'm still too young to fully feel nostalgia. I've seen it on video, and have a pretty good idea of what it is. Still too young to feel it personally, though.

I can only consider a few games nostalgic to me (my age being a factor), those would be Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (My favorite one and it's the only one in the series I don't own!), and Namco Museum which is many Namco games in one.

Funny, Thousand Year Door was actually the first game I played. Ironically, I don't own it either.

You're... TWELVE!?@#
Now I know how you old folks felt when I joined the forums and said I was twelve at the time (Just kidding, I wouldn't find it too hard to believe and nobody here is what I classify as "old folk").

"Cracks Knuckles"

One of my favourite childhood games period.

STILL love this game, I found it in my closet a month ago and have been playing, I have the ost on my Ipod.

In heinsight this game kinda sucks, but nostalga is still there!

This game was always a favourite of mine, very unique and tons of fun. Even some of the newer ones aren't that bad, "which is rare for games of this nature".

EDIT: I did youtube videos cause I was too lazy to go through the process of getting all the pictures and putting them on word press and etc...

Ahhh, spyro the dragon!
I had all three PS1 titles and 100 (or more) percented them all. I didn't have a whole lot of PS1 titles I enjoyed but those were pretty good.

I almost did, but in 3 I couldn't get the last damn skill point!

I'd say Kirby 64 was the best 3D platformer. But it was just 2D with 3D graphics....

I'm with fab on this one, Super Mario 64 was probably the best real 3D platformer.

You could probably tell by the image macro I wasn't being totally serious, but Super Mario 64 is the most nostalgic game for me.

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT NOSTALGIA SO I AM GOING TO TELL YOU ABOUT MY CHILDHOOD. SUCK IT.

Every day after school I'd go to a day care. I was older than you'd expect for a "day care," but I had to go somewhere while my parents were still at work. Besides, I was very good friends with the owner's children.

When I was 8 (That was 2000, mind you), they got a Nintendo 64 with Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong Racing. Even though SM64 is single-player, it got the most play time by far. Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong Racing are both excellent games that I love, but Super Mario was something else.

You're all probably familiar with the feeling of exploring new areas, finding Power Stars and beating that final boss for the first time, but when you're a kid and you're doing it with your friends it's infinity times better.

Six years later, when I was fourteen and had stopped visiting these people except for rare occasions (which I still feel bad about), and when I had a Nintendo 64 of my own, I finally got all 120 stars, hopped in that cannon outside and flew around the castle. That is the greatest moment in my life as a gamer.

So that's why Super Mario 64 is my favorite video game. I'm not saying Banjo-Kazooie isn't a better game, because I haven't played it and even if it was the most glorious thing to happen to mankind, nostalgia wins every time.
