This sucks.

How do I create a new .exe from scratch?
Is it even possible?
Because for some gay reason my Cave Story is effed up after I delete a map or so.

Cave Editor, Sue's workshop's not as advanced.

And for Uncle, can like anyone send me a Doukutsu.exe with all unnecessary maps deleted? As in, don't delete Null, u or the essential maps.

You can't really say that Sue's Workshop isn't as advanced. It just doesn't have unnecessary functions. Those extra stuff that Cave Editor can do can also be done manually through a hex editor.

I might add that it's more stable too, if you ask me :D

Eh... how is it effed up? You might have deleted the starting map, so if it crashed, it's because the start point is non-existent in this case.

It says 'Doukutsu.exe is not a valid Win32 application.'

I deleted the first few map from the bottom until u (Kings), is there any special maps in there?

OOOOOOOOOoooh.

That only happens to me when I open a .exe that has been edited via Resource Hacker.

How about trying Sue's Workshop?

Are you using the v0.2 with Deluxe package?

Or the 0.5 Alpha by ProfEich?

There's one that comes with the Deluxe Package? :D! I neva knew!

In any case, I'm not using that one. I'm not using Sue's Workshop 0.5A either. I'm using Sue's Workshop 0.3C. (Edit: WTF THERE IZ VERSION 0.5 LEGASP?!)

The only difference between 0.3A and 0.3C is just that 0.3A reads .pbm image files ONLY, while 0.5C reads .pbm image files ONLY.

You can convert a 0.3A to 0.3C by changing the text strings ".pbm"
in Sue's Workshop.exe in a hex editor to ".bmp" and vice versa.

You don't. You just re-download Doukutsu, or, if you were not working on the original Doukutsu.exe, simply make a new copy. (You really shouldn't be modding without first making a backup anyway.)

Uh, yeah, sorry, but that means it's less advanced.

It can be found on the Cave Story site, but it's really almost identical to the 0.5A version... (which can also be found there)

EDIT: Wait, that's 0.3 not 0.5. Why is 0.5 not there? For that matter, I note that Andwhyisit tends to post all available versions of things, yet there's no 0.2 there either...

Not really, seeing as it can't do anything new :/

It just makes things more convenient.

Exactly, so it's more advanced. (And you just said earlier that it can do new stuff – since something that requires hex-editing does not qualify as something Sue's Workshop can do. :p )

In event #1000..
1) There isn't a <FAI, hence the map can't fade in
2) You used a <HMC after the <KEY, but didn't put a <SMC after that. <HMC is "Hide My Character"; you gotta add a <SMC "Show My Character" somewhere after the <HMC to make your character visible again.
3) Err... "<KEY<MSG<TUR>...<NOD<END" Why iz thar a > infront of <TUR? :o Unless it's part of the text to be shown.

I just needed the SMC part.
