About the fireball i guess thats a reward for not taking the spurLace said:better, but you can not break your spur, and kill all the balroggers with a fireball, and they can't do a thang.
you still have door problems.

I wasn't comparing mgs to this, I was comparing it to itself.
By adding new graphics should i edit what i already have, make the new maps with new graphics or just cancel my first mod and make a new one? and another thing i tried editing the graphics in cave editor with its feuture for that but it never let me save itGIRakaCHEEZER said:Lol yea, the original Metal Gear Story had waayy more potential than it's final product, but for some reason I didn't feel like continuing it. The only reason I could have for that was to say I wanted to start working on WTF-story, but WTF-story wasn't created/imagined until after Metal Gear Story was "done". In short, I just didn't want to complete it, maybe I didn't like the direction the story was taking.... or the mod itself. So yes, I killed it.
[Edit]: Oh hey that's right this thread is about Newbie Story. Listen Whostony, what I recommend you do if you want to get your mod to stand out a bit more is add some new graphics. People always like new graphics.

And i already played both your mods i enjoyed both but im not really that good at playing *I got to the part with the three bosses in the original with a machine gun then quit* so i quit both your mods i might just play them again though
on WTF Story I beat the tetris boss blocky was his name? I beat him but the next level was a bit to hard for me and im not sure ill play it again cause the tetris level was torture to beat
I'll remember to but still you haven't answered my question how exactly do I edit the graphics?GIRakaCHEEZER said:Yeah, WTF-story is currently very hard, especially on people who have just beaten/have not beaten cavestory. Because of it's inacessability to the average player, with the next release I plan to release an "easy" mode of WTF-story. So when WTF-story v 0.4 comes out, you might want to check it out again.

Thanks for the help im currently editing the MyCharGIRakaCHEEZER said:GIRakaCHEEZER's Quick Tutorial to Graphics editing in Cave Story:
First thing, go to your data folder and check it's properties. Chances are it'll have "Read-only" checked on. Set it to off, then click apply. If it asks you if you want the changes to be made to the subfolders and files, choose yes.
Next, in CaveEditor, go to Game Settings. Make sure the checkbox that says "Remove (C)Pixel Requirement for Images" is checked. Once that's done, save the Executable (file-save).
Now, I recommend you use MSpaint to edit the images, since the built in image editor is lacking, even in comparison to MSPaint. You can open the graphics file with MSpaint, all the graphics files are .pbm's. Right Click on one of the .pbm files in the data folder and go to properties. Under the tab general, there should be an option called "Opens with" and it should say unknown application. Click the "change" button next to that. In the list of programs it gives you, find paint and select it. Now you can double click the files to open them in MSpaint.
To save your changes in MSpaint, you should remember to just press the "save" button, since that will keep it as a pbm. However, if you click "save as", you can still save it as a .pbm by just adding ".pbm" to the end of the file. This will be helpful if you want to save it as a 24-bit bitmap, since pbm files currently only use 16 colors.
