New Forum Smilies

I have a sad story.

Every day, a strapping young lad comes to these wonderful forums. He contributes often, but he has an issue. Each time this handsome sir makes a post (complimenting darkcrusader's work, for example), he watches in horror as his favorite smiley face is transformed into a horrible, green, snarling monster. Sure, he could just type ": D" but that looks dumb. He could disable smileys in user CP, but then everyone else could see the ugly beast.

But seriously, can we change this? is more of a trollface smiley, not a happy face. It comes across as a butthead post, instead of a happy post.
On another forum I used to use, they had the same smiley register as and left colon-capital-D alone.
Does V-bulletin allow for this?

what if somebody who was good at sprites did up a bunch of CS-related emoticons? Cool? Tarted? You decide!

Well okay then. I did think it looked pretty bad. I think it's probably the worst one there, actually. In fact, there's only one that I DO kinda like, which is . Anyway, maybe you could change it, bind it to something else, or just get rid of it all together.

Well, since there are a few buttons for the new theme that aren't made yet, I guess while I fix that problem I might as well make emoticons too, but I'm not so sure if Andwhy would accept that or not.

I'd be happy to add in a few new emotes/change the tags for the current ones. I'm pretty sure I'm able to, and honestly I've never really liked this forums' emotes much either. Aside from . is so he'll :eek: your .

Or maybe I could just deck us out with GG2's emotes

It looks more like a wide grin then a trollface. To each their own I guess.. *shrug*

If I change it to mrgreen then I will need to make a replacement. If you guys can show me a good "" emote from another forum then I can recreate that one in the same visual style as our other emotes.

I've never met a replacement that I liked.
