New Cave Story Wii Ware information

Recently, my friend sky and I were discussing the Wii Ware launch ost, and I decided to ask Tyrone for clarification, this was his response.

It’s nice to have official word on the matter, plus I find the first part fairly interesting.

 

Huh, I kinda wanna get my hand on those WiiWare midis now.

 

Still amazed at the sheer amount of wiiware songs that went unused

I still hold a strong belief that if the wiiware ost had better instrumentation it'd be the best ost

All I really know about is Credits Wii

Honestly, I don't know how they released the game with that issue in the first place. If the project wasn't rushed, then that affords even less excuse to the quality of work on display. I'd be curious to know where all these features went, because there's only like 4 new features in the release. Were all of them scrapped?

My best guess is that Cave Story Wii Ware started out as a almost exact copy of Cave Story (Free Ware), but then they decided to add stuff like the updated ost and graphics, challenges etc. Just a theory however

 

There was also an unused version of Jenka 1, and given how it sounds, it really could've fit with the very first room in the Labyrinth before opening the door. I don't think there more than those two songs, though.

Intro Menu - Upbeat remix of plantation, would've actually preferred this instead of what we got
Jenka 1b - Remix of Jenka 1, Not sure how to feel about it, I like the version we got over this only because it adds to the melody

Isn't Credit Wii used in the credits?

No

 

An org version was used in the mod Jenn's Journey, though. But that's pretty much the most use that song ever got.
