The crown bearer used the crown's power to make her stay small for the CP and when the crown was destroyed the effect wore off.

I always figured that this was an heirloom from Jenka. She's a sorceress/witch, and she's too cool for a wand, so she has a staff, because if you hit Balrog with a wand it'd probably break.

Everyone's all on these black balls of lightning and completely ignoring the spinning balls that turn into orange bats, or the summoning of bricks, or the heat-seaking balls.

Plus in the final battle she also summons some kind of ground creature.

If that were the case, wouldn't she just age to death? This wouldn't explain why Jenka or her brother are still alive in spite of their age either.
