I thought the entire point of the experiment was to get out of hand?

Well the first experiment has been conducted and completed.

The second experiment is a biological expedition into your vagina. Some members of the team might not make it back alive, but we're hoping to document several dozen neever-before-seen species in a mostly isolated ecosystem. The only contact with the outside world is the periodic raping, which will also provide insight into evolutionary drift, like Charles Darwin's studies on the Galapagos Islands.
I will need five brave volunteers and several hundred condoms.

This thread is like Schrodinger's cat. By checking to see whether or not it was dead, you made it not dead.

Eh, not quite. The point of the cat experiment is that until the box is opened, the cat is both alive and dead; a state of quantum flux. Opening the box simply collapses the outcome into one. In fact, the cat and the box are just to make the experiment feasable to observe; as at the time we couldn't look at a single atom. The real point is that until the outcome is observed (the decay of the atom), it is both decayed and undecayed.

This is closer to being a case where looking changes the outcome, like observing a particle position vs. velocity.
Uncertainty principle and all that jazz.
