I wouldn't say I'm against using smilies, emoticons, & the like, but I do share your desire to not use them myself (Unless it's for post title icons or DragonBoots' 'Why, Why?' meme...). I'm not judging you or overeacting, though, I'm just actually quite surprised that I'm not the only one who doesn't tend to use them (Well, for the most part, anyway...).
