How did your first playthrough go?

got the MG on my first, then left curly in the cabin & got the bad ending & reset.

Same, except I left Curly in the core room because I got the Booster 0.8, and I knew I can load saves after the bad ending.

This should be most people's first playthroughs, barring the machine gun part.

 

I got the Spur on my first playthrough, not liking the MG and finding the Snake more of a hindrance; in the Labyrinth, I enjoyed the simplicity of the Polar Star and always felt that you could go back to the first cave at some point. I got the normal ending and spent several days trying to beat all 3 forms, life pot and everything. The undead core is one of those fights that's one of a kind when first played; you're forced to battle 3 monsters in the pursuit of the same health bar. It's an endurance man.

Yeah, I had your typical first playthrough. I got the bubbler, got the machine gun and turbocharger, probably missed a missile upgrade, got booster 0.8 leaving Curly to die, didn't get the nemesis, didn't get Chaco's lipstick or Curly's underwear, and didn't get the alien medal. I got the bad ending then immediately changed course and got the normal ending. That first playthrough was pretty epic. Hard to believe it was over seven years ago.

My first playthough was in easy mode on the 3ds version. I first got the bad ending, then the normal ending. Took me to my third playthough to get the best ending.

 

I already was spoilered on the whole secret ending stuff.
...Yet I still missed the Iron Bond, whoops!

I feel.
I don't think anybody actually discovered the best ending accidentally; it's almost impossible to accidentally come across it considering the logic you gotta follow...

 

Bad ending with the Machine Gun, Booster v0.8, leaving Curly behind.

When I learned that you could save Booster and Curly (and the Polar Star for a neat upgrade), I started over immediately.

 

Never finished it. Save file remains to this day.

 

I played the DSi version first and I got the bad ending, but here's the kicker, I thought that was the only end. It took me a couple months to pick it back up and realize there was more to it lol
Also I played around Christmas the first time through and was confused why Quote was brown

 

Yeah, my first time was like this:

-I knew about Booster 0.8 but leave Prof. Booster there to see what happens
-Got the Nikimaru Counter
-Never knew about Whimsical Star
-Got the Alien Medal with skill and luck from Ironhead (despite having no use...)
-Saved Curly but she had amnesia in plantation, so i leaved her there
-Probably got the Nemesis? I can't recall well in this one...

i don't remember it entirely but...
i was on easy mode CS+
i got the booster 2.0
i had a hard time with it
i saved curly, got the normal ending
i had the machine gun

I...just realized that was over a decade ago for me...

I do clearly remember letting Curly die, because that moment really hit me when the door closed behind me and she was still back there. Man, that was heavy.
Aside from that, I don't really remember what all I got or what I missed.

 

I left booster
I got the machine gun
I let Curly die
I had, like, 45 max health or something like that
I had no idea the whimsical star or the spur existed
I think i got the nemesis, i'm not sure (I've always loved swords, so i doubt i would've traded it away as an eight-year old)
I never found at least half of the missile tanks
And I got the normal ending
Oh yeah, and i drowned in Start point

 

also, how do you drown in start point? I know you can but like..how..​

I was still getting used to using a keyboard for Cave Story. My introduction was the Wii Ware port, so i was not used to controlling CS without a wiimote

Now here is something interesting, so my introduction was the DSiWare port (rip DSiWare), and when I finally played vanilla and CS+, it all felt so much easier playing with a keyboard than it was with the button panel on a 3DS.

 

Really bad....i ended up with the machine gun. Curly died and i got the bad bad ending....after that i read a guide and realized there were 2 more endings and i missed out on so much, i went back and replaed it...I have probably played and beaten this game 20 times by now
