Getting rid of Cat

No, I'm pretty serious about this.

I know cat started off as a joke or whatever but it's getting somewhat annoying. Ever since it was implemented there have been at least 4 threads asking what it means. And if it stays, every new member is going to ask what it means. It causes nothing more than more spam and meaningless questions, and not to mention it was pointless in the first place because it's just an ego-booster/reminder Noxid is better than everyone else. And if anything, at least let Noxid keep it. New members are more focused on their own stats each time they post, so I highly doubt they'd really care about what Noxid's stuff says. And even if they do, it would at least cause less threads to be made about it than if everyone and their mother has it.

So yeah, it was fun while it lasted but I think we should get rid of it to prevent further confusion/spam. Sorry for being such a party-pooper, guys. i'm actually not sorry

At least have only Noxid keep it, or have us have it under a certain circumstance.

 

Put it in the rules that anyone asking about cat will be immediately banned. If they ask, hey, it's proof they didn't read the rules, so we can ban them.

 

The "wat does cat mean???" threads provide an average amount of meaningful discussion, so I'm not in favour of or against abolishing Cat. As Dunc suggested, it could be a good way of determining who has read the rules if we make "don't ask about Cat" a rule. It also means that all future "wat does mean mean???" threads would get deleted.

I love making more work for the mods, they're getting too laid back.

Not only that, but having a completely meaningless stat might make some people take their post count less seriously.

 

I'm in favor for the removal of "Cat", for the reasons mentioned earlier by desu. And I don't think anyone really cares about their post count anymore, at least not that I've really seen in a while anyways.

Dasu you seem kind of really upset about this but you didn't really give a reason as to why it being in the rules would be a bad thing. It really is a good test of who's read the rules, which could be pretty useful. I like having the cat count there, and honestly there's been what like one thread asking about it?

Then Wild Desu would complain about the possibility of getting "wat is tihs cat optoin???" threads. If Noxid could only see it or only had it then there would be complaints about the unfair distribution of cat or cat viewership. I refer you back to my "the drama isn't worth it" post. I've essentially preempted every single Cat-related concern in the future by completely removing it across the board.
