Your average run-of-the-mill grievers, just doing one of the only things they can do to get attention...
Hard to tell if they actually have any real skills with this or are just getting lucky because all of these companies have gotten probably a bit lazy on the defense against hackers. They seem to be attacking at random for just lulz, affecting the users more than the big companies they attack. {Which seems to defeat the one purpose they had, when attacking PSN} They apparently even hit the old Battle.net as well, what purpose would that serve?
Suppose they should laugh and moon and have fun while they can, though, undoubtedly won't last long, and then we'll forget all about it and move on. Might be exactly what they're trying to avoid, but the most they could possibly hope to achieve is everyone remembering them vaguely as Those One Assholes, whoever they were. Can't remember... whatever, when's lunch?

Oh, my bad, I was doing something at first and skimmed that first article.
Well, that shows pretty bad for 'lulzsec'. Guess they really do have no goal at all except to cause as much trouble as they can and make themselves publicly known, at least for awhile.

Yes, that is their self-stated goal. The only reason they have support from anyone is because some people think they're like Anonymous.

They refused to release info from Nintendo. Too much respect, they say.
It's an Anonymous that only cares about trivial things like the right to install Linux on PS3. Though it might just be a Nintendo fanboy looking for an excuse to hack Sony.
They also are holding Bethedsa's database hostage for... more Skyrim info and an ingame Lulzsec hat. They respecr Bethedsa too much to just release the information or something.
This is not serious buisness, Lulzsec. You're doing it wrong.
