Five Nights at Freddy's is turning out to be one of the most popular indie games since Minecraft.

 

Minecraft can't really be called an indie game anymore, sadly... And now it's foxy, next it'll be Yellow Bear. (Or Golden Freddy, which & what-ever.)

TECHNICALLY lots of games are indie. Half Life is an example: developed and published by one studio with no parent company involved. MC isn't indie anymore though, but I still call it indie because it still has such a small dev team compared to every AAA game.

Also for the most part it's had a tiny budget because the rest has been spent on creating merchandise or the Mojang office meth collection, judging by how long it takes them to make an update that adds 5 commands, a mob and 4 blocks and yet how quickly it takes them to make this week's ore themed light.

Also it doesn't help they have like 4 people working on the 1.9 update.

Yeah now minecraft has the budget of any AAA game. But they STILL only have a big update once a year
