You were asked to stop as a courtesy, not as a commandment. You can totally keep your gifs if you wish to, but making a post such as that really doesn't help your cause.

I also don't think calling them kinda annoying or saying that they make the site slower to load is bitching, but maybe you have a different definition than I.

Well, when there's a multitude of people saying it, some even suggesting suspensions/bans for those who use them, that's when I qualify it as bitching. Hence my statement.

I'm saying that it's pointless NOW because no one else has anything to really say about the whole gifs thing. So yeah. But hey, if it would make you feel better I can end all my posts with cute little faces so there's no negativity.

I think I have beaten a majority of you. I went with neither gifs or puns. I just went with a stupid quote.

No. For three reasons. The first is that MS' signature breaks the size limits 60% of the time. The second is that one of those randomly generated signatures can trigger an epileptic fit. The third and final reason is that applying an exception for one person for a possible rule will only end in such a rule falling apart as the forum members will only ever see such an arrangement as unfair.

The size issues are the same for Drunken Applesauce as well.

Maybe there should just be a rule against random image generators in sigs, because one minute they violate forum rules and the next they don't.

Also we may need a rule against images that can cause epileptic fits. It's all fun and games until someone dies.

Am I the only one that's starting to get really tired of this latest "trend" in signatures? Some of these GIFs take forever to load and it's kind of annoying/distracting.

Er, yes. The animated ones were specifically what I was referring to. I don't have any real issues with the image file format itself.

I don't really think a distinction was necessary, it was pretty clear what he was talking about.
