DOUBLE RES MOD!!!!!

This thread is a uselessly rant stand up against Shadow and Mario Noxid and GIR to give us pancakes and BACON unlock the secrets to double res!

Why should we have to settle for cold cereal 1X mods when just behind out backs Noxid and GIR get to sit back stage and eat all the bacon enjoy the luxury of 2X mods???

We are being forced back into the dark ages people, the leaders are corrupt, mods aren't getting better. (worse if anything) and they "try to help us along" by giving us the exact placement of assembly codes and even giving us a nice Cave Story modding tool to 'keep us off their back" and to keep the peace.

They go even as far to state that it would be a "copyright infringment" to do 2X res because of the extreme similarity of the sprites. . .

let's look at some sprites from K;SS and compare to CS+

Let us look at the "religions status" of CS modding. We go back to the Catholic church and see that people of higher rank made money off of purgatory and the like. When we make a mod our "status" raises to a higher level. When you get high enough, you get 2X res for you next mod.

The only one who is high enough to get the status is the MAKERS OF 2X RES!!!!!

I bet Magic doors mod will be 2X though. . .

The only ones high enough to read the bible in the catholic church were the ones who could speak latin. (a language that you needed to go to collage to learn) Latin is the 2X res of CS!

8x mod which replaces useless Cave Story code like Jumping, and Shooting, and enables amazing Still Screens that are like REAL LIFE!

Some parts of the game may need to be re-assemblyed , but IMAGINE !

Well, it's only illegal if you make a mod with the EXACT same sprites as CS+, the sprites and tilesets in Nox and GIR's mods are edited, so it's pretty much fair game.

We have literally talked about this a bunch of times
You have to ASK them for double res and you have to have good reason for wanting it
Double res is usually given to mods that actually have new graphics and also probably having content and showing potential is a good prerequisite as well

 

Clap clap clap. Fuck the research and effort those 2 put into it for personal use and that they'd be glad to give it to you if you actually fucking earned it, let's just get everybody sued. Its better to make 2% of a sooty double res mod and quit than to make 3% of a single res mood and quit anyways. Am I right?

It's untrue that they keep it for only themselves. The only thing you need is to have a mod that is making progress and show them some of the work you have done. They don't give it to everyone because a lot of people would ask for it and so they would be busy with it very often, and some people don't even have the motivation or talent to finish a mod in the first place.

I finished Cave Story X but I still doubt I could use 2X

(I have low self-esteem too)

 

My mod has the dang hack so I think I should know that it isn't a totally restricted thing. Work hard and you will be rewarded.
