Donating to Pixel?

I recently bought Cave Story on WiiWare after beating the PC version probably 10 or so times, and I am honestly appalled at how bad the Wii version is. I wish I could get a refund somehow, because I absolutely do not want any of my money to go to those incompetent idiots at Nicalis.

Anyway, who I do want to receive some of my money is Pixel. Is there some way that I can send some money his way? Cave Story is one of my favorite games, and I really would like to donate a little bit to show my appreciation.

Edit: Also, I read in another thread that there's some sort of patch that gives the PC version high resolution graphics? Can somebody point me toward this? I did a bit of googling but I couldn't come up with anything.

On one hand, pixel doesn't have a paypal or other such donation link on site, but on the other hand someone was able to send him a autographed psp with a early build of cave story for the psp.

Keep your copy of CSWii. There may be a patch on its way after the AU/EU release that fixes most of the problems.

I think the problem with the US release of CSWii was more than likely that Nicalis were given a deadline that didn't give them the time they needed to finish the sound engine and beta testing for the game.

Anyways, that all said, I'm kinda believing that Pixel doesn't want our money.
I mean, CS was more than likely made to be an inside joke for his friends.
Who knows.

Yeah Noxid emailed Pixel and got a solid response of "No" for releasing (specifically, making a fanmade double-res-CS with new fanmade-graphics) the hack.

God damn that's the biggest bullshit I've read. Maybe not, cause bright fellas like Heinrich and Wilhelm from Nicalis wouldn't like it and would probably sue Skye.

You can still do 2xres in your mods, but you can't make the original cave story 2xres. Furthermore you cannot use CSWii-specific material in your mods or mod CSWii. That's it.

You guys act like it is the end of the world despite the fact that you have lived without it for 4 f**king years. 2xres-ing vanilla Cave Story never even crossed your minds until CSWii was brought into the picture. Sure the 2xres concept has been around for a while, but you all wanted it for your original mods rather than to upscale vanilla Cave Story, and to be honest I'd prefer it that you keep it that way.

I did warn you all about the dangers of CSWii modding, especially so close to the release date. No-one listened and now Skye and myself are stuck cleaning up this mess. What the f**k did you think would happen?!

Personally I could care less for the Wii mods, and although the 2x res is cool, I think it's a bit overrated (doesn't impact the gameplay) and a risky hack, even if it's just used in a mod.

Only my last sentence was directed at you. I was just saying that you made it sound slightly worse off than it actually was.

The rest was directed at every individual who still thinks that 2xres-ing vanilla CS is a viable option or cling to it like their lives depend on it, because to be quite honest they are STILL either discussing the possibility or saying how unfair it is that they can't. So of course I felt the need to rant.

It would be kinda cool if Pixel accepted donations but I believe DB is right in saying that he probably doesn't want them.

 

Suppose someone illegally obtained Cave Stowii for free because they didn't think it was worth their money, or they didn't have a Wii, or both. But, this person really likes Pixel, and wants him to get money. Maybe they could give money to Pixel and say "I stole your game from Nicalis. Here's some money."?
Eh, he'd probably give a share of it to Nicalis.
