Death Story

I've been working with Sue's Workshop quite a bit recently, hoping to make a hack of Cave Story which is actually fun to play. Unfortunately, I am lazy and can't be bothered to make new tilesets for certain maps. Since there's not much I can do story-wise without new tilesets, I came up with the idea of an ultra-hard Cave Story hack, Death Story. Death Story features:
+ The exact storyline of Cave Story
+ No original music
+ Only minor graphics tweaking
+ Bastard evil level designs that are not fun in the least
+ Mushrooms

You may torture yourself if you wish by downloading this madness here. Please remember that this is only a short demo, and not much is completed. I'd just like the general public's opinion on the idea, so I know whether I should finish this or not. Have (no)fun~

Since a couple people have gotten stuck in the Start Point (and a few more inevitably will) I've included a solution for getting past it.

Heh, you just made my day. I myself am surprised that I didn't get a concussion from all that laughter. Joyous laughter that this was an epic success! I must finish it!

Really, this means a lot to me. Also, on a completely unrelated note, there is in fact a save point in the first cave. However, it's quite cleverly hidden.

I'm not sure if it was a glitch or something but I got the life-up by just jumping around alot, also the place where you're supposed to get stuck lead me to water and then right up near the save point.

I hate you, I finally got pass the death spikes and was heading up to the save point... when BOOM. Dead. You're a evil evil man.

Of course you can jump up through like that, the area sucks, remember? Unless, of course, it brings you to a place from which you can access the save point, then I would have made a screwy mistake. Could you kindly PM me with a pic of this other jumping-around-randomly-type-bug associated with the life capsule? I may have to get that one looked at Thanks for pointing out these bugs, especially considering that beta testing this is a bit hellish
