I'd imagine the adventure rewards, new items, a new mob, new biomes and world features, and NPC villages promised in 1.8 will be enough to respark interest.

Aww yeah, found some sweet lewts including a bitchin' boomerang. Feel free to take anything aside from my Glowing Mushrooms/Gravitation Potions/gemstones/all my gold or gold coins. I think we should be able to take on the Eye of Kathooloo now :D
