Cave Story X Mega Man v0.1.0.1

Version 0.1.0.1 is out. Minor changes and stuff, so check the change log in the original post. I only suggest re-downloading it if you haven't already played it.

I really liked this mod, it was fun and good and I liked it. The music was great, great remixes of some of my favorite Mega Man songs. It really felt very much like a Mega Man game, it had almost the same style of progression, you fight all the enemies on one screen and finish all the challenges and then you go on to the next area. It was pretty difficult though, but it was reasonably difficult. Overall, this game gets my official "BETTER THAN MEGA MAN II" stamp of approval, as well as my "BETTER THAN MEGA MAN GAME GEAR" stamp of approval. Good luck on finishing this!

I practiced the recording/audio with DoR2 to make sure that it was working beforehand, but I forgot there there's no music in that game.

How is it impossible? You can keep playing and playing the mod until you master it.

I suppose I'll start the construction of the next level soon. Don't expect any new content to be released for a little while, though. I've got something really cool planned for the bosses.

Since you can do character sprite changes with the Mimiga Mask, can you make character 2 be X?
That would be soooo cool!

 

The differences between X and Rock are way too small to convey in a simple sprite change, which is probably part of the reason why X has a larger sprite. The only part that I really think he could change to look like X is maybe the helmet.

If you want to play as X, you can always take the mychar from the dormant MMX mod and stuff it into CSxMM. Believe it or not though, I do use the Mimiga Mask to achieve the teleport effect you see at the beginning of every stage.

Thanks! More to come, but not until at least a few more months. There are still a handful of songs I need to transcribe, as well as an entire stage and a half left to design. Not to mention a thing I want to do with the bosses (involving ASM).

 

I could help with level design, I know cave story's physics, and how all the mega man levels are usually made, and can make links to make the level even more close to the epic game we know as Mega Man.
