Cave Story Webcomic (Also "Hi, I'm new here.")

Hello, I'm new to these forums. I mainly joined for the purposes of showing off my .ORGs, discussing any mods that I may do or "attempt" to do in the future, to show off any other silly-Cave Story related things I do, and the topic of this thread.

Anyways, introductions aside... The topic of this thread is to show off my CS webcomic:

(Ooh, banners... what an unoriginal idea...)

This comic (currently) is essentially a spoof/retelling of the story of Cave Story, but from the perspective of the Villains and an OC protagonist named Squire Brakkett (a corruption of Square Bracket, going with the robot/punctuation-mark-used-in-code theme naming). So currently, Quote is a minor character, having only appeared once so far... (but he will get "promoted" to rival/antagonist as the comic goes on...)

I'm posting this topic to not only to draw more attention to the comic, but to get some critique/constructive criticism on it from the CS fanbase.

Man.. this is reminding me just how long it's been since anyone actually /did/ one of these. Tale of the Cave died in 2010, which I'm guessing most people here have never even heard of.

Learning that Tale of the Cave died (I read it a couple of weeks before I started the TFAoSB) was one of the things that inspired me to make this comic. (That, and just about every other cave story comic that wasn't TotC seemed to not get past Mimiga Village storywise...)

 

I liked it. It was rather entertaining.

Is it just me, or does Sue's expression in panel 4 of the latest strip look quite awkward?

Updates did, in fact, stop for about a week (There was a whole lot going on in my life this past week that left no time for me to update.).
The good news is, they are resuming on schedule today.

Tale of the cave, damn that's old as hell.

 

Just curious, but why did Squire name his pet Behemoth 'Fran'?

 

Story-wise: He just thought of a random name.

Lengthy explanation on the name origin: I came up with the name "Fran" by corrupting part of the word "Elephant" because that's what I think behemoths look like the most. Anyways, what I did was take the last syllable of the word, drop the "t" changed the "ph" to an "f" (because they are pronounced the same phonetically) and added an "r" to make it look more like a name and less like a household appliance.
(I realize now that I probably could've made the name "Elly", but I like the name "Fran" better...)

Also, Fran is more of a companion than a pet.

Anyways, I should probably start updates back up today.

Behold! Quote's incredibly dumb insult in the latest strip! (Well, at least I think it was pretty dumb...)

 

Well it was only a matter of time before Quote SOMEHOW got the SML (super missile launcher) instead of a regular missile launcher. I still love this comic though.
