Cave Story+ Secrets

Go to the main menu select challenges.
You will see three rows of question marks (???).
Now Press Esc a message should appear saying "Start Game"
Press z.
You will be in a room with the music From Hell playing.
Thats all i found for now.

The Status: i'm in the house where Quote enters hell i haven't beaten Ballos yet.
I give this info just in case if its the only way to access this secret.

So, it's a shortcut for those who want to do speedrun on Hell?

 

No, I believe there's an individual mode for speedrunning it. (The timer runs anyway.)

Maybe, they put it there to let people practice it?

 

On the Wii version, there are codes you can enter at the 'Press Z' screen to change the costumes. Is there an equivalent in this version?

Yes, I have Cave Story+, the Mac version of the revamped Cave Story game. I don't have the Wii one, but I heard of codes that could be entered in the Wii version (the codes you just posted). I was asking whether there were equivalent codes for Cave Story+, the Mac version.

 

Cave Story+ Secrets updates

I just beat Ballos in both Cave Story's (original and + ) the extra challenges are all unlocked after you beat the game in the good ending makes sense.
The Modes,

Running Hell time attack (seems redundant)
boss mode
and wind fortress, I haven't seen that one before it has a new map

I dont know if the modes were in the wii version but, it seems i'm not done. XD

 

Wind Fortress is the only new mode reported so far. Nicalis did say they had plans for new content to be released via DLC, but those are still just plans as far as we know.

 

Speaking of which, anyone else played through it yet? Until it's released for Windows I don't think a "Best Wind Fortress Time" thread would have much use but my best time is 3'03"6.
