Cave Story Remix Project Returns!!!

Hey guys - Just wanted to let you know the Cave Story Remix Project is getting a bit of an overhaul.

The website really says it all, Nicalis (the guys behind the WiiWare version!) are going to host the project and I'm planning a big update. I think I will be adding anywhere from 6 to 8 new tracks for the project, most of which are already done.

I expect to have things ready in a month or so.

Im making this thread first off to let you all know, and 2nd off.. to ask which songs you guys want to see. Any song that was originally covered by the project is out - I just want to see tracks we originally *missed* covered.

Also, We are covering one of the tracks that never made it into the game, the infamous Wind Fortress theme. This one is finished and its epic.

Nicalis is simply hosting the project. Every song on this 'bonus' disc is being composed and written by me. So on the subject of percussion, yea, i think we can manage that.

Yeah, that first one is defiantly Mischievous Robot... without a proper intro, but whatever.

That was one of my favorite tunes from the game, along with Scorching Back.

Anyway, I wish you guys luck. Just try to keep in mind the "soul" of each tune as you're doing it. I.E. Moonsong being a gentle melody, with soothing tones. If it doesn't feel right, don't go with it.

I would agree if they were doing the remixed music for a game, but if you're just doing a remix of a song, you don't necessarily need to keep the same soul of a song.

Just stick to if it doesn't feel right, don't go with it.

That's a relief.

I can't identify that middle song either. At first I thought it might be Geothermal, but that was in the first Remix Project. It's a mystery I'll solve later. By myself. Because you'll be dead.

 

I was able to finish the last song early. That means the bonus disc is infact done. I just need to update the website and get the songs online. We ended up with 7 tracks.

It may be all ready to go by the end of the day, or it might be a few days, depending on Nicalis. It's coming

You guys got all the preview tracks except the middle one, and no one has guessed it right yet, its a tough one.

Hey k-wix, you wouldn't happen to know if the track "Welcome Home" in the original Remix Project is synthesized or recorded would you? It just sounds too realistic/expressive to be synthesized.

I am extremely confident that it is synthisized. I'm not sure what he used, but the panning and reverb are done well enough to where its difficult to tell.

 

Middle Track: i'm thinking... Hero's End? Quiet?
