he write it himself cus he knows how to write

We all secretly hate that song, and we wish it was never a part of cave story obviously.

...OR, it could be that making a remix takes a long time, we have other CS songs we'd like to remix, and we have a lot of other things in real life to do.

Which do you think it is ? I think it's the first one.

Soldier's Prayer

It's a combination of "Last Cave" and "Balcony"
And it has vocals

I might re-record it at some point, because there are two spots in the second verse where I have to sing a three-octave arpeggio, and I didn't do it very well. My annoyance at having not done very well also caused me to mess up the rhythm shortly afterwards. I'm sure I could do it better with some practice. There's also a spot in the instrumentals where the different voices briefly get kinda jumbled, so I might re-record that spot, too. Other than those things it's pretty sweet, if I do say so myself.

It was an okay remix, but I don't know if you can sing WoC. Especially during the free verse parts, if you're supposed to be quote (which is what im guessing from the lyrics) then he sounds kinda, well, it reminds me of a british accent almost, but it's not. And you say toroko (too much emphasisi on the row I believe) funny. It's really a weird sounding accent/tone, I don't know. And some parts of the song you go way too high with your voice, not good. Also the underlying part is okay, but not "great".

But yeah, it would be cool if we could get a good singer . I might try, but I don't have a microphone.

don't know why this one sounded so euch though, the gimme dat miraigamer forumz one wasn't that awful at all. maybe a lyricless sawng would be better? ah well.

If I tried it would sound like if cheese had tried to become a girl and botched up somewhere along the process.

This is why I said I might re-record it, 'cause I'm actually not a bad singer (I'm not great, but I'm competent at least). And no one's ever told me I have a british accent before, maybe I was trying too hard to make it sound melodramatic? In fact now that I think about it, my "melodramatic" voice does sound a bit british...

and mix it with Scorching back and then back yo your song and back to mine

So bassicaly the song comes on
for instance you did last battle and sing to it fot about 1min
then fade into scorching back and then back inoto final battle and into scorching back into last battle

so we take it in turns to sing

I wouldn't say that just yet....
Have you heard some of the songs from Project Chaos?
It's a remix of the Sonic 3 and Knuckles soundtrack, and a few tracks have vocals. {Knuckleduster and Water on the Dance Floor are the two I can think of, right now}
They sounded pretty nice, although Knuckleduster doesn't make any sense whatsoever...

 

Well, in any case, me and Jet doing a duet isn't really practical since we don't even live in the same country. As for vocal remixes in general, I think they work fine, if they're well done. So far, the vocal remixes in this project have been good in theory (well written), but not so good in practice. I can't speak for Jet, but I'm fairly confident that I can improve my performance in Soldier's Prayer (I was singing it in the car on the way to school this morning and I nailed those three-octave arpeggios).

Also, what are y'all's opinions about how well written Soldier's Prayer was? The comments so far have been basically about its mediocre performance.

Hate megaupload. Probably not the best site to use if you're going to want people to dl it. I'd recommend Mediafire or Esnips.

Some of the notes are wrong though, this kinda irked me. Also I don't know about an organ as the main lead, but it works okays. The song seems very static too, as in once it's started the accompanying parts and such remain the same. My fav thing about it though is some of the improvisation/original solo stuff which was done pretty okay. You should probably give it a creative title, it needs one to be a remix IMO.

Also I already remixed geothermal (jeez), which can be seen here: Thermal Winds
We can have multiple remixes of the same track though, so it isn't like you're breaking any rules for this Project .
