This somehow reminds me of the 3ds eshop version of wind fortess, where if you beat G-CLONE, the message box says "Defeated G-CLONE!!8" or something.

I'm pretty sure they fixed that. But yeah, I remember that from playing
the eshop version when it came out.

I think the typo happend when CS was getting ported normally to the eshop, which happens to be to last port of CS to have appeared if I'm not mistaken.

It's looking like the reason it exits is because it branches to 0x0.
Basically the equivalent of a train derailing into a black hole...

Ha, that's nothing. Nicalis charged $40 for Cave Story 3D, you know.

It at least makes some sense for Cave Story 3D to cost more, since there was a bunch of work put into making it 3D, and perhaps more importantly, the costs associated with a physical distribution vs digital distribution.

And I paid every penny of that.
That was my first time playing Cave Story.

It would be almost worth the price...if the game wasn't already on the E-Shop on the exact same system (which was also a much better version) for much cheaper.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but CS3D isn't available on eShop. eShop even says to buy it in retail stores.

I was talking about the original Cave Story.

I don't know why, but (aside from looking like a PS1 game) Cave Story 3D also forgot to include the Wind Fortress mode. I'm honestly unsure as to exactly how that happened.

All I can say is, at least the game didn't require 3D glasses.

Well, considering how much more work it would be to make that, and how it was a launch title for the 3DS, and considering the glitches that it contains, I would say the rushed CS3D a bit.

Well, considering how much more work it would be to make that, and how it was a launch title for the 3DS, and considering the glitches that it contains, I would say the rushed CS3D a bit.

That would definitely explain the visuals, but CS3D also added a small new bonus area into the main game (the Inner Wall). Also, CS3D had a goddamned kickass soundtrack. But ultimately, it was just a disappointment. Not terrible, but just kind of lame regardless.

I honestly think that the only truly terrible thing to come out of Cave Story itself was most of the Wii version's music. That's just my opinion, though.

Don't forget the extra "Egg Corridor?" area and the one after defeating the doctor core. But other than that, it didn't add much. Other than the new graphics and music. I'm still glad I got it though.
