Cave Story on Windows 7 (Beta)

...doesn't seem to work. At least not for me.

Well, it does run, but it seems to be unable to find most of its resources. The "Loading" screen shows up for a short time, the intro doesn't (instead the screen goes all-blue), the main menu displays entirely fine with music and stuff, but after selecting one of the two options the game exits with a cryptic error message.

Are there any workarounds, yet? It tried all compatibility modes.

 

Can you give us some screenshots? I need to know what graphics are showing up, and what ones are not.

I'm currently using Windows 7 beta, and Cave Story works. I'm using the "deluxe" version, though I doubt that has to do with anything.

...are you using the 32-bit version of the beta, or the 64-bit, Pizuz?

 

I'll try that. Currently I'm on the 32Bit version, because this is the only one that would work on my Mac (Boot Camp has problems booting the 64Bit install DVD).

EDIT: Deluxe version works. Perfect.

 

Cave Story runs for me, but is very choppy and slow (32-bit Windows 7 beta).

I wonder why the deluxe version worked? I'm downloading right now to test it, but shouldn't it be exactly the same as just the English patched version?

EDIT(2): Nevermind. Everything is slow.

EDIT(3): It was my graphics card. For some reason 7 didn't like it at first. All is well in Cave Story land!
