Cave Story Holidays

I have Cave story + for switch and I noticed the graphics looked different today when I booted it up. I was surprised to see its a halloween skin...I just randomly bought the game vaguely knowing about it for the past 5-6 years...I'm super sad I didnt get to this game sooner as its one of the best games I have ever played...With that being said I know the skins change around Christmas as well but are there any other holidays? I cant find any well documented info regarding the holiday skins.

 

I'm pretty sure that it's only Halloween and Christmas that are different in CS+.

 

I can imagine holiday skins for Cinco de Mayo, Independence Day, Easter, and Thanksgiving.

Easter maybe, but the rest hold no significance with the rest of the world.

I mean I never heard of Cinco de Mayo, and Independence Day is naught but an alien invasion film to me. I have no idea what they are about.

All I know about Thanksgiving is that it is the Turkey eating day and something something indians.

 

Yes, but the point is that everyone has heard of those holidays and have a general idea what they are about, regardless of if they actually celebrate them. Hence they work as visual themes.

The point is to use universally recognisable date-based themes. Cinco de Mayo ain't that.

Fun fact: to fix the broken achievement, just use a hex editor and change “ENDGOOD” to “ENDBEST”. Nicalis has neglected this for 6 years

 

Yep. Fixing the leaderboards ain't so easy, since NICALiS never activated them; that's something they gotta do.

Well, even if we could fix the leaderboards, they would be useless, considering that only a few people would have access to them defeating the purpose of a leaderboard.
