is there a reason you said that same thing both on here and in the chatzy room but you still haven't even logged in IRC yourself?
all i know is that this chatzy thing is a hell of a lot more active than the IRC has ever been as long as I've been going there. the only people who EVER talk seem to be dragonboots and celticminstrel and OCCASIONALLY someone else, and it's almost always about programming.
maybe we should make an actual thread about that chat? And if there is one, maybe it should be stickied or bumped? because I had no idea about the IRC chat until like 2 months after I joined the forum, and only because someone told me in a PM.
With that kind of thinking the irc wil be even more inactive than it is now.. but I guess I shouldn't be the one to say such things since I get afk so often.
I hypothesize that #doukutsu is largely dead because the fun people don't really come on. The ones that do only do it like, what, once a month? Plus we do nigh-all our discussing here.
Having two insta-venues is never really a good thing, because one will get neglected. And because IRC is perfectly good and #doukutsu has been here longer, I vote we stick with IRC. All in favor?
Yeah. How is IRC more convenient than this chatroom? I mean seriously guys what the fuck. I don't feel like downloading and wasting my precious seconds with an IRC client or whatever you call it. This chatroom is better. Besides irc sucks by default. Who the hell uses it nowadays? Programmers who are the only ones who understand DOS? Okay that didn't make much sense. The point is we should move forward, instead of communicating via telegraph.
Ok, I would remove this chat channel if Espernet will be open to every Cave Story member and get stickied on a place that everyone can see. I was on these forums for more than half a year and contributed as much as I could yet didn`t know about this opportunity. Similarly JetHawk95, or others said they didn`t know about it until they were invited by PM (no wonder that with these conditions Espernet have not got larger traffic. lol). It even makes some people a little upset to tell you the truth. I must understand if Espernet wants to be exclusive, it is it`s right. This chatroom is made by love to the forums and meant to be open for ALL members, posted in a place that everyone can find. If Espernet has the same goals and will be stickied plus the majority of people prefer IRC to this solution I will remove mine. I don`t want to compete and want a solution that You, the Community finds best.
