You can have a ridiculous amout of face pics if you want them, as long as you extend the .pbm downwards <FAC can accurately count facepics.
That isn't assembly hacking, it's Pixel being a genius.

And as Lace said, there is only one assembly hack in the mod, the TSC buffer.

I feel silly now. I thought originally, "Hmm, I wonder if this works because Cave Story just allocates the face panels in set-pixel size blocks from left to right."

But then my paranoia kicked in. It screamed "Assemby hacks!"

To clarify, what is the TSC buffer hack, and how will it affect porting?
