That's what I thought about Balfrog, too the first time! Took me forever to figure out that it was actually when he opened his mouth that you could hit him. Felt like an idiot afterwards. Glad to know I'm not the only one xD.

Omg, look at that awesome number of posts! I think it will be a long time before I post on this forum again, just so I can savor the feeling of having 69 posts.

That's exactly what happened to me the first time. Believe it or not, I actually beat him once without knowing his attack pattern but forgot to save later. -.-;

*facepalm*

Ok, an alternate way of writing 69 is to overlap their circles like this:

Now think of the two different colored sections as two people.

I always thought 69 required no rewriting like that. The circles are the heads.

Back on topic...

Most fun: Hard to say. Either undead core or Ballos. If he didn't hide behind the wall so much the original core would be a contender too.

Most annoying: Monster X. Didn't really phase me too much first time through, but on low-HP runs he is the cheapest, most unfair boss ever.

Most satisfying to beat the first time--Misery. A more compelling villain in my mind than the Doctor himself, finally getting to beat her up felt pretty good.

Toroko's not too painful as long as you're patient. She only attacks once every few seconds, so if you make not being hit priority one you'll find she has a hard time hitting you. Pooh Black's cheap but not enough to stop him from being a wimp. I never had any problem with Ma Pignon, but I don't think I ever tried to beat him with the snake (if I had the snake, I'd use something else for most every boss; I probably beat him with nemesis).

Back when it took me about 15 minutes to kill it, Undead Core was my fav, but now, after upgrading my (prehistoric) hardware, it's just not fun anymore. Now it's faster, and harder, also, but not too hard.

Ballos, OTOH, was, and still is, a great fight. He's been challenging enough slowed down (FPS at about 20), but now he's absolutely priceless.

Dunno what's the fuss about Toroko+. Sure, she jumps around and throws blocks that (gasp!) change into walking flowers on impact, but come on, it's not that hard. Dodge, jump and shoot. I managed that on my first fast game. Sadly, Toroko is challenging, but dead in just a minute. Shame.

Monster X, oh my god, the speed! It's first charge surprised me, not because it came from nowhere (I already knew about it), but because I wasn't used to the speed. Barely managed to dodge it, then proceeded to kick that cat's ass. Just the fun.

All the other bosses are also entertaining. I don't really dislike any of them.

The thing with Toroko is that her attack is not dealt with the same way as most of the bosses. Most bosses shoot a lot of slow moving projectiles which mostly either aren't aimed directly at you or are destroyed by your own shots (or both), so you can stand your ground against most all of them either by jumping or shooting rapidly (or with the bubbler). Think Core one, Core two, X, and so on. At the very least, they're predictable. Toroko's attack is very fast and it's hard to predict what angle it'll come from, and you HAVE to dodge it. You barely even get any warning. Also, it does a ton of damage. Mostly though she's just hard if you try to rush her.

Yeah Frenzied Toroko is pretty easy, as long as you don't get too close to her.
