Anyone else getting worried..

..worried about Pixel's current lack of online presence that is.

The only online activity Pixel exhibits is from his twitter account, and while he did post something this month for Kero Blaster's first anniversary the tweet before that was three tweets on 30-31 December 2014 (new years), after two on 19 September 2014. Tweets just seemed to really drop off after the 19th of June. Pixel's website on the other hand hasn't been updated in a year and the BBS has been down for around a year as well.

 

Maybe he's just busy with life? A lot of people seem to be lately.

 

Although StudioPixelJP seems inactive, looking at https://twitter.com/amaya_pixel suggests he's fine.
Unless that's unofficial?
(EDIT: Though, come to think of it, the BBS not being around is unusual... maybe he thinks he doesn't need the BBS because Twitter exists?)

 

@amaya_pixel is his personal account. So you might consider that "unofficial".

If it's his personal account, and he posts to it, then he is still active, just not on the StudioPixelJP account.
Who knows, maybe he's up to something secret?

Yeah, I'm aware. But if it has been removed from the site navigation and garners no response to any question asked then I would call that down.

But it just seems weird because I don't think I've ever experienced a year (duration-wise) that didn't show some sign of Pixel working on something.

Maybe we can get super kero blaster 64 dx: directors cut or something like that if we wait long enough.

 

Still, anyone remember that strange ending in Pink Hour with the weapons guy. I guess he's working on that.

You are missing the point of this thread entirely, it has nothing to do with the so-called "Cave Story 2" that was hinted at awhile back.

What Bionico meant was if Cave Story 2 is real, then that could explain why we havn't heard much from pixel as of recently ('Cause, Y'know, he'd be working on the game. ).
Despite how improbable that is (that Pixel IS working on Cave Story 2), it still seems pretty related to me.

 

It is a bit worrying, but short of asking him directly on Twitter (which might be seen as rude) the best we can do is wait. My guess is that he's just having a busy/rough year personally, and probably just needs some time to get things sorted out.

It was definitely a joke. The other folder names made that obvious.

I'm pretty sure Kero Blaster didn't do well enough, and that's why.

I mean, it's practically over. We don't care that much about cracking it open to modify it. We don't hear anything anymore regarding it. Apple didn't give it any headway, I mean, at least to my knowledge it never got put on "best new games" or anything like most games are able to get. A steam version was hinted at if it did well... And it isn't on there.

Two years of his work, and what percentage of us even played it? I mean, with it not being free I can see how the younger two thirds of this forum couldn't easily buy it, but that has to mean something in Amaya's eyes.

Also, regardless of if a project is successful or not, Post Development is hard. I know many people that agree that the time after releasing something is kinda depressing.

I'm gonna make a KB remix or two. Send 'em to Pixel. I'm sure at the very least, he'll appreciate that someone enjoyed it enough to do that.

I dunno, the guy just deserves to know we appreciate his work.
What was it the gunsmith said? Something about even 1 person putting his work to good use and appreciating it for what it is is enough reward? We all know that was Pixel talking.

Yeah, but even after his child's birth he still continued to make games.

 

His kid must be quite grown-up now. Christ soon they'd probably be old enough to be a member here, that's a scary thought
