About Curly Story...

Does anybody know the FULL requirements list to unlock the mode in WiiWare? I've looked around and every website tells me the same thing:
Curly Story - Defeat Curly in Story Mode.

Yeah, I've done this on Easy, Normal, and Hard. I have gotten the true ending on Normal, and dare not try on Hard since is was insane to even get to the Curly fight on Hard, so I won't even try. Is there anything else I need to do to unlock the mode?

Thats funny i unlocked curly mode the instant i finished the boss fight against her i had to do something saved shut off the wii and when i came back curly mode was there.

Yeah, the sacred grounds, leading into the sanctuary to fight Ballos, I beat that for the best ending on easy and normal. On hard, I've managed to beat Curly, but still no unlock, I will wait until the tomorrow I guess.

Because we're talking about the Wiiware version my analysis is that the game is broken. I had it unlocked since the beginning because I bought it when they thought it was a good idea to have every mode available from the start of the game

 

Well i bought the wiiware version after the patch was made.

Well, in the face of adversity. I just copied my files to an SD card and will try re-downloading the game.

 

Not really i have yet to see anything else that shouldnt happen so instead that was a stroke of luck.

I find it hilarious that they are encouraging that (and even more hilarious if THAT is the requirement to unlock Curly mode).

or, if they're (maybe Pixel had a hand in this?) being devious, you could need to get Curly's Panties without getting the Lipstick.

That is by far the weirdest way to unlock a mode. Finding a robot's underwear.

I actually kinda like it, as it suddenly gives the item a reason for existing that did not exist before. If the other formerly useless items had such an upgrade (yes, maybe even the Beast Fang! ), I'd be pleased as punch.

 

I just beat Curly at the sand zone to get her mode (wait! I just remembered! I got her panties AFTER I beat her ). Honestly, In Curly Mode I'm at the core meanwhile in Quote Mode I'm just at the clinic ._.
(I got Cave Story Wii 2 days ago...)

 

Maybe what happens is that, if you find the panties, then at the beginning of the game Quote puts them on, and this makes him Curly. And since Curly doesn't have panties at this point, this makes her Quote. Obviously the panties and Curly's ability to talk (or rather, to state her name whenever addressed) are related. One could argue that the panties are the only object to distinguish between the 2 besides the hat, and the panties actually have the effect of changing the overall appearance of the robot.
