As far as I know, those PBM files are just renamed Windows Bitmaps. Just changing the extension from pbm to bmp works just fine, so the reverse should too. But I have heard of PBMs before (Portable Bitmap?), so that might be where you're getting mixed up.

If you're not after really fast times on the Nikimaru Counter, you can try to get a few shots in right after it fires, and then focus more on getting items from the Butes. Otherwise, you could stay under it as much as possible, using the Booster 2 to dash between the Deleets when necessary.

If you want, you can try MIDI sequencing instead. Much the same as OrgMaker, and many game making programs support MIDI to some extent. Anvil Studio is probably the best of the free sequencers, and it is possible to manually transcribe Orgs to a MIDI. Takes a bit of work and tweaking though...
