In my experiences, Machine Gun is by a large margin the best weapon to get and saves the most time. The minimal amount of time you'd save in Hell with the snake is easily countered by how much time you can save by flying through various parts with the machine gun.

I believe a good while ago, there was someone who was working on an online cave story but it never became much and I'm pretty sure it's dead now. Forgot the name of who started it...

Pretty much agree with Doublethink. I would imagine any kind of reviews on a Cave Story Tribute site would be kind of biased...juuuust slightly :p Reviews on a more neutral site would likely be taken more seriously.

I disagree. Health Pot is extremely useful in a 3hp run against Misery to Undead Core part. A lot of stuff only does 1-2 damage there. Misery's Bats (-2 I believe) Misery's black circlely thingies (-2 again) Doctor's Red Crystal (-1) Misery's critters and bats in the undead core fight (-2)...

It stays with you till after the Toroko+ fight I believe. Somethin like that. edit- It stays with you till the Toroko fight actually, it just disappears from your back once you go into the room.

You don't have to get the life pot. You can walk out of the house after Jenka gets knocked down.

You could always go into your item menu and change weapons there instead of switching in real time.
