^^; I know Quote doesn't take any damage from the cutscene, but he doesn't take any damage from getting STOMPED into the ground and getting knocked unconcious by Balrog either... [when in battle he loses a lot of health and isn't knocked unconcious.] Cutscenes are unique; it would be ridiculous...

That's crazy! lol, I used that trick on my last playthrough... I hadn't ever tried it before then; but opening up the inventory window allows you to take another hit immediately; and if you're holding down the jump button you bounce high; so you can take as much damage/jump as much as you want...

Monster X reminds me of old Sonic the Hedgehog robots. Kill the robot and... pop! Out comes a critter. There are a lot of nods to other games in Cave Story... could be one of them?
