A dmg is actually a compressed disk image. If you want to look at it I will try to upload it to FileSpace (as a zip instead of a dmg). -----Edit----- Here. The executable file is at "Cave Story.app/Contents/MacOS/Doukutsu", and the data folder is at "Cave Story.app/Contents/Resources/data/".

I've already located the TSC files and such – they are in the data folder within the application package (on the Mac, an application is actually a folder in disguise). And the profile.dat is a key in the preferences plist. It's just the actually executable file that could be difficult. The map...

You get the normal Last Cave if you don't have Booster v2.0. And I heard that if you don't have Booster v0.8 that some of the spikes are replaced by fans.

The one on the balcony is just another frenzied mimiga, of the larger variety. Just like Igor and Toroko. Although it seems to have the powers of Igor and not Toroko, it's reasonable to argue that there's no actual difference it powers – just a difference of which powers are used.

I'd really like to try out some of the mods and maybe even create my own (someday), but there's a rather major obstacle. As far as I can make out, all the mods and modding tools are Windows only, whereas I usually use a Mac. First of all: does anyone have any idea how to convert a mod to work...

Well, it means that you can first take the easy ending, then reload, fight the bosses, and do the hard ending. Unless finishing the game clears your saves?
