I think it is because the first boss in Kero Blaster is what looks like the Omega boss from cave story (in the sand zone.). Could Omega be from the surface? Or did he somehow survive Quote and the island's fall? But anyway, the most obvious answer would probably be that Pixel just liked...

There are a lot of good video game companies, but I would say Bethesda because I enjoy the elder scrolls games (skyrim was a bit dumbed down though.) I think studio pixel should have been in the list. I mean, this is CAVE STORY FORUMS. Or you could put nicalis.

First got it in 2010 on DSiWare. Didn't know it was freeware on PC at the time.
