Or, if I use the polar star lvl. 2 shot too, I can make the range of the spread increase.

I'm thinking:
Lvl. 1: 5 shots short range
Lvl. 2: 10 shots short range
Lvl. 3: 15 shots long range (slow reload, and 0 exp to max?)

Hint: I developed a code for a multiple shot spread weapon (shotgun?) that shoots lvl. 1 polar star shots with a vertical velocity spread, that shoots more each level (lvl 1: 5 lvl 2: 10 lvl 3: 15). Could this be a shotgun?

Also, I developed a way to control the rate of fire that is independent of the shots on screen (kind of), but to make this I really have to butcher a weapon.
