It's all getting the older versions of software because proper Windows support wasn't done or even dropped. Get all versions of Visual Studio from 2005 to 2015 so you can just compile some code. (And forget about MingGW compilers you gotta install and add the path for first) Oh but first you have to uninstall some parts of VS2010 first then reinstall them again and other service packs in a specific order. End up with 5 different terminals, and have to download the powershell Windows 7.1 SDK to run a simple run command for a basic node package. (Oh and the Microsoft download center is broken, all the download buttons are missing)
