For the most part, it's perfectly acceptable and often encouraged to wear one's beliefs on their sleeve. That's always bothered me, though, even when people aren't twisting them into an excuse for delicious conflict. And I don't have a good reason why...maybe my shrinking-violet tendencies go deeper than I can look into at the moment.
