CSE2 - The Cave Story decompilation project

As far as I know, distributing the source files is a big no-no, but mods and builds on their own should be less of a legal problem? It's still entirely up in the air as to what happens, but my mod hasn't been taken down yet, and at this point I think builds and mods should be fine.

I'll keep that mind, then.

I fucking hate how it's taking so long for NICALIS to respond to the developers of CSE2.

I already know the trick behind their sleeves, they're just gonna fuck the devs over.

 

It is really easy to get something taken down as a big company but putting it back up is so slow.

Apologies for the necropost, but has there been any new news as of late concerning CSE2?
It seems like Nicalis just pulled a Nicalis and nothing more has come out of it.

By changing one value in CommonDefines.h, you can make the screen not just wider, but taller

Nicalis DMCA'd the GitHub repo, which had the source code. They didn't try to scrub everything that was ever posted on the internet about CSE2. It's still actively used to make mods/fangames.
