Yamashita Farm flowers and -5 spikes?

I was messing around with these and noticed that their sprite is determined by event. (0 is a left facing spike, 1 is an up facing spike, etc.) How many entities act like this? It seems that only ones with one animation frame would...
And what exactly are events below 100? None are used on maps as far as I know, so are they just universal events?

Yeah, events bellow 100 are in the "head" file at the bottom... they're events like "do you want to save?" (number 16) "health (and missiles) refilled" (17) "you have died" (32 or something, I think?) "Got the missile launcher/max missiles increased by 5" (30) "you were never seen again" (40-something, is it?) and the like. And for convenience I believe event 1 is "Empty." for treasure chests.

Yes, event 1 is Empty.

BUT.

Event 1, 2, 3 and 4, when set, can determine a sprite's facing position.

Given, ofcourse, that you don't set flag 2000 to the spikes. (Ofcourse, their direction should still be different, they just wouldn't damage you, and they'd run event (x) when interacted with)

Actually, I tried searching but didn't find it for some reason. I think I even saw some of those threads but I didn't realize they were the same thing I was talking about. (just because... this stuff is pretty confusing to me) Thanks for the info though.

You mean if you give a sprite the event number 1, he will face a specific direction?

Only 0 and 2 actually. Unless its a spike. I think.
