Why does Momorin have the mimiga mask?

This question came from Noxid during his livestream on Cave Story+ a while ago, and it has bugged me since. So, as the title states, why does Momorin have the mimiga mask?

I wonder how one could go about creating a mimiga mask in real life. I suppose it would just be a rabbit mask.

 

Obviously she skinned a Mimiga, and then treated the fur/skin of the head to create a mask.

Still begs the question of who she made it for in the first place, even if she is a taxidermist.

Obviously the soul of Arthur turned itself into a Mask so that anyone who wore it would bear the likeness of him. Momorin just happened to find that mask while trying to make her hideout in the Plantation.

 

She's a fursuiter, but she was so ashamed of her private hobby that she gave the mask to Quote.

 

That may look like a lab coat she's wearing, but it's actually a mimiga suit.
She looks surprised to see you the first time because she was caught in the act when you walked inside

I'm guessing that Momorin had the mask because her mission would involve living with the Mimiga, and if they didn't like her or her family, well, she can't let that get in the way of science. It's kind of ridiculous that a mask would fool anyone into thinking you're a rabbit-monster, but hey, video games.

 

Because she was busted by police and she doesn't want anyone to recognise her after this incident.

Oh jeez.
It's like Majora's Mask. Just like how there are 3 races, and you get a mask that turns you into a dead hero from each one.

Arthur is the hero of the mimigas! It all makes sense now! It TURNS YOU INTO ARTHUR!
