Why does Curly ignore Quote?

We all know once you beat the Core that you get the air tank from Curly because you nearly get flooded...
But why is she just standing there when she could be helping him?

 

Because she is emotionally compromising with herself in order to commit the nigh-impossible act of suicide.

MAybe she's computing her options. You know, like should she save him, or take his wallet and run.

It's you going unconscious that makes her make the rash decision of sacrificing herself to save you. Before that, she's presumably still trying to find a way out of the Core room.

 

I agree with Malpercio. To me, it just feels like she is thinking to herself, "What did I just do?!!", and having an emotional breakdown. When Quote collapsed, it snapped her out of it and made her realize that there's no changing the past and that she must think about the future. (In her case, she believed that Quote was far more likely to save the island than she could be, so she sacrificed herself to ensure his survival.)

 

I would still like to know why she dosn't just share the air tank until they could find a way out (as uncomfortable as it would be).

I think Quote floods as well in the water, but if he does, that means he won't be able to save the island (because no one would save him, except Curly who obviously doesn't find the rope), and therefore, you lose the game.
