Anyone know for sure what programming or scripting language was used to create Cave Story? I'm wondering mostly because I've heard that Pixel has given the source code to those who worked on some of the console and portable ports (namely the Xbox and PSP ones), and those have been more or less perfect as far as I can tell. It seems like the language that he used makes for some easy ports, which narrows the choices down considerably. I just want to know for sure...

I was stubbling around on the internet this morning and found a few references to "Cave Story", a freeware game that was written, programmed, and developed over five years by a single man! After minimal poking around, I found a Mac version (it was originally PC) and an English translation patch. This guy is awesome and so is his game, its totally NES like, reminiscent of Metroid, Castlevania and Mega Man. By all online accounts the game should last the uninitiated about 10 hours (AWESOME). The story is actually pretty captivating. Enjoy.
