What files do CD-R's Support (CS Relevant)

I have some friends who are too lazy to download Cave Story (Or, claim that their hard drive is messed up) I run a mac, but could easily download the Ultra pack and put it on a CD-R to give to them. Is this possible?

Wrong. The "r" stands for "recordable". It is basically the shorthand name for blank writable CDs.

Next time make sure of the accuracy what you are saying before you force feed misinformation to the masses. If you didn't know then why the hell did you argue the point as if you did?

 

last question (for the friend who claims he has a corrupt hard drive) Can you run, play, and save the game off of the CD? Need to know before burning copies!

 

You could.. but you can't save

 

You could just buy a two dollar flash drive and put it on that. And then you could use it for lots of other stuff because Cave Story isn't very big.

I think you can since there have been reports of profile.dat being stored in a different folder than cave story in rare cases.

In any case it would be advantageous to find out if it works.
