What do you think of the 3ds?

Well the 3ds is out and i WILL get it (who could not want to have super street fighter 4 on you're pocket) not caring of the sony ngp project and i just wanted to see you're thoughts on it.

 

My thoughts? They're making too many DS's: lite, DSi, XL... But I'm really looking forward to getting it (In a few days). So far it looks like a vast improvment on the DSi (3d, for one) so I hope it pleases. Cave Story for 3DS basically made my decision (along with Black & White).

 

Black And White? Like, the classic 200(2?) PC Game?
I think there was a DS title for that and it wasn't very good...

yeah, but the only ones worth getting are the Lite, DSi and 3DS.... (i'm selling my dsi for the 3ds, and i did the same thing with my Lite when the DSi came out.)

I really can't wait for the 3ds, and the screenshots for cave story 3ds look amazing.

Yeah, but there are special features for the DSi and 3DS, as well as improved graphics for the 3DS.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to getting one, though it definitely won't be any time soon. :l I think it just seems like a neat idea, and not just Nintendo's way of going 3-D.

We'll have even more 3DS's if history is correct.

Brick Gameboy > Gameboy Pocket. Gameboy Color. Gameboy Advance > Gameboy Advance SP > Gameboy Advance Micro. DS > DS Lite > DS-I and DS-I XL.

We need to have at least 5 different versions of the 3DS before it's over with.

I bet it's gonna be a 3DS lite, which will be smaller and have better battery life

They won't reuse Lite as proof of them not reusing Pocket or Micro. So they'll name the smaller 3DS something else, maybe something unique.

 

Quite frankly, I don't see any improvements over the original DS that actually make it any more fun to play. Also, I don't understand the feasibility of a hand held console that costs more than most high performance consoles.

EDIT: Holy fuck telescopic stylus totally worth $250.

4DS. Instead of re-releasing retro titles, Nintendo will charge you money to go back in time and play them. Then Sony will come out with something that goes forward in time, but it costs three times as much and has a terrible library of games.

Until I see enough games coming out that I specifically want for the 3DS, I have no plans to get one. My DS pretty much became a backlit GBA and I'd rather not have that happen again, as I have even fewer DS games than GBA.

Perhaps if the 3DS gets some of the shmup glory that the DS missed out on I'll consider.

 

I'll wait untill it has some decent titles or any reason I'd want to keep it afterwards. The only reason I kept the dsi was flipnote Haten, and I don't even use that any more, so I'll wait to be sure 3ds isn't just a repeat of that.

Maybe after 3ds they'll make Pds, which projects your game footage through a high-res projector screen, but the L and R buttons will keep breaking. Sony will respond with a Psp that also displays everything on a projector, but better and not aknowledging that it's basicly the same thing.

Gosh, I've never broken a single button. Everyone else must play really roughly or something, because that really doesn't happen that easy.

 

The shoulder buttons on my DS wore out as well. The problem with them is that they are exposed, so they're subject to some trauma if you're just throwing it in your bag to carry around someplace.
