Update to the email notification system

Just some simple stuff to stop clogging up our inboxes.

One thing I notice is that if you are subscribed to a thread, and are refreshing the page constantly because an active conversation is going on, you will receive a shit ton of emails letting you know about posts you've already seen. It gets annoying, especialy for me, because I have to delete them on my phone and computer, and the phone takes its time.

So what I'm suggesting is just a few updates. Like an option on your control panel saying, "do not send email if on thread during time of the post". Something simple like that. I like instant email updates, but not to that extent.

Thoughts?

 

There are two ways to fix this.

A. Stop subscribing to threads.

B. Make it where the forum doesn't send you emails.


The way vB is made there isn't really a way to make it only send emails during certain events. As in, the system that handles sending emails out cannot tell whether you are viewing the thread at that moment, only that someone posted in it.
