I'm trying to put an Undead Core boss fight in my mod and I'm having a pretty major problem. No matter what I try, I can't get it's "limbs" (the little mini-cores that float around that you can ride on) to show up. Help!?

Well I've never really looked into that before but I always thought it was either a generator npc in the wall or it's just an automatic thing that happens when you animate the undead core to start fighting, much like say, the heavy press, when you're fighting it there are the butes that come from the floor. But obviously it's not either of these cause if it were you probably would have gotten it...

Solvaded! ;)

Dave was right, it's just an automatic thing that's part of the boss fight like the butes in the Heavy Press fight. The entity #291 that Boots mentioned are stationary mini-cores that are in the room when you enter but that get <DNP'ed at the start of the boss fight. The reason I was having trouble is because the limbs always start at the rightmost edge of the map, and the map that I was trying to put an Undead Core bossfight in was much wider than the "Black Space" map in Cave Story, so the limbs took a long time to make their way over to the battlefield, but they were there. As a solution, I made a separate map for the bossfight rather than just putting it in the upper-left corner of a larger map.

What I'm curious about now is if the limbs that appear as an inherent part of the bossfight are #291's or part of the boss itself. In other words, would editing entry #291 in npc.tbl affect them? I'll test this and let y'all know what I find.
