Like, huh?

I first knew about the book from a local internet friend. When she said it was about romance. And there it came to my mind, a gay, pink book, with nauseating love symbols as the decoration.

...... found out I was wrong, although not completely. Everyone starts to talk about it, and days later it came out on local cinema. Watched it because Bond is no longer shown at that small place, and I was confident it could be just as good as what we wanted to watch, due to those seemingly unfake recommendations.

D: Eh? What's so good about it was all I could think eventually. Wasted RM10 there(my ticket), but my mom was somehow excited and thought that was worth it.

I don't understand. Is it just because they have guys with excessive makeups on?

Or should I just try the books? Is it harmless doing so?

Books are way definitely better than the movie adaptations mostly, IMO.

Books leave your imagination to soar, and when you watch the movie, you go

Anyway, I doubt Twilight is an exception to this case.

and I think twilight is overated or something

though i wouldn't know since i haven't read the book but people keep telling me to read it

I don't think I've ever gotten interested in reading any of Stan Lee's blockbuster shit movie's comic form.

And I don't think the books will solve the problem. I can only name one part of the movie which was a thriller. And in books, there are no thrillers =D

I dunno. I think there's too few plots in the movie. But the buildup is kinda a promise that the sequels might be awesome. And then my friend said New Moon is crap.

I prefer movies to books when it comes to romance, actually.

On the other hand, a darkish theme would suit any book better movies or even anime.

And I completely disagree with those who claim books are the most intellectual form of art.

Yea. Art can be intellectual or whateverual anywhere.

And you sound like those who lub Vampire Knight. And I think VK is still better than Twilight despite being shoujo. Maybe because I'm biased towards Japan :p

Having read the book itself, I can safely say that it sucks. I love the author's prose, but the story itself is utterly terrible.

Just as planned.

I mean, yeah what's most important is the story.

Btw anyone heard of Holes by Louis Sachar? I need it for my Lit syllabus, but since only 2 studs from here are taking it it's not sold at school. But I just need a blurb. Do I really need to study it for a year or just at the very last minutes before my paper? XD

I know holes but I don't know any man-made ones.

So I'm just gonna put Twilight on my to-avoid list.

...................... that's why you'd fuckin' never have a real gf

Any suggestion on a "teen" novel that's got nothing or maybe just a bit to do with love, crime investigation and paranormal?

Oh btw I hate J. K. Rowling, so consider that.

The only part that interests me is that the old pedo targets boys.

Nasu's Kara no Kyoukai, a Type-Moon novel fits this description to the letter. Also, if you don't mind torrenting, Tsukihime is the best Visual Novel ever, also made by Type-Moon, and it's set in the same universe as Kara no Kyoukai. Kara no Kyoukai is currently being released as a series of anime movies, and it's quite awesome as well.

To seal the deal, I uploaded this just for you:

I'm just going to reccomend a generally good book that very, very loosly fits the above, kay?

http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/images/n1/n6543.jpg

This book has:
  • Epic battles
  • Horrible monsters
  • DRAGONS
  • Forbidden romance
  • A one-eyed prince
  • Violence
  • Mystery (Are there really female dwarves?)
  • Magic
  • A super-mega death hammer
  • Horses
  • Ponies
  • Pirates
  • Sea monsters
  • The greatest action hero ever
  • And did I mention DRAGONS?
While this book is more akin to Tolkien's LOR series than Twilight, I think that you'd like it. And if you find a copy, hold on to it. It's a pain to find.

And I'm serious about the list.
