Tale of the cave mod

I'm thinking of starting a cave story mod (yeah, another one, but don't worry, I'll still finish the CA, and get going on FL) based on Tale of the Cave, a cave story webcomic.
I would like this to be a community mod, so if you want to join, post a reply.
now, I know what you are all thinking, community mods don't work out well at all, so, to prevent it from failing epically, only well-known/trustworthy modders will be allowed, If you are new to modding, you can release a small demo of your skills and, if it is judged good enough, you will be allowed to join.
I will also need artists/composers/(maybe)ASM hackers, for anyone wanting to do any of those, if you aren't well-known, you will also have to submit a demo.
I think that covers about everything.

 

I could create a few maps at your request, if you want. I can't do anything art/music/ASM related, though.

 

Maps are fine, I don't need people to do everything, after all, it's a community mod, I just need to see if you have done any modding before, but I'm pretty sure you have.
Can't find anything about you having previous modding experience, anyway, I just remembered that TOTC is based in the exact same maps as the original Cave Story, so there won't be much need for mapping anyway.

 

The only thing I have publicly posted here was my contribution to Take 8. I don't really have much else to show, but I would like to think I could do a reasonable job on a map.

But really, another new mod? There seems to be a fad going around where everyone tries to ruin their mod by starting up new projects. And we've already established that community mods (almost) never succeed. I personally think this is a really bad idea and that you should just try to stick to your old mod(s).

I AM CYNIC MAN! THIS IDEA CAME TO YOU SUDDENLY AND YOU JUMPED ON IT AFTER TAKING TIME TO CONVINCE YOURSELF TO POST THREAD AND SLOW YOUR MODS!

(Ahem) But there is a right to be cynical here. It's a bit easier to get a community on something like this as we liked the comic and whatnot, and alot is prewritten so not too much argument will happen. But the issue is anyone capable of performing well on this is already busy. You also have our track record demotivating most people automatically. So be warned, and expect little more than an enthusiatic first post from a few people.

 

Yeah, I know, but it would be nice to actually get this done if possible.

While that IS TRUE, it can be possible to continue where the comic left off. Maybe. I dunno. Just saying it might be possible. Also, if you DO make this mod, it would probably be my favorite mod because I LOVE TotC!

 

Yeah, We're going to need someone with a good sense of humor to finish it in the mod.

I like TotC too. It was a pity the guy stopped making them, so I'd love to see this mod finished.
