I was always wondering what the HID device did and I turned on the X / Y axes. I booted up the game and I walked from the save point, down the hole, and into the Sacred Ground Spikes! (I didn't touch the keyboard). Does anyone know how I can fix this auto-walking thing? Thanks to those who reply.

Human Interface Device????
Maybe you can fix it by turning of the Thing We Don't Know What It Does.
I really don't know what this HID is.

I don't know any more than these guys, but have you tried the alternative control setup in the config?

You mean The Apeture Science Thing We Don't Know What It Does, I assume.

Human interface devices are things like keyboards, mice and controllers, right? Maybe you either turned on something that isn't configured properly (or something like a game controller that you left upside-down somewhere and it's constantly sending a directional input, that's happened to me before) or ... I don't know. First try turning off that thing you turned on to cause this, obviously, or try unplugging/replugging everything that could possibly be used to move Quote (keyboard/controllers).

A HID (Human Interface Device) is a controller like a gamepad or joystick.
The X and Y axis refer to the control directions of the stick (or thumbstick).
To my knowledge, not having an actual device plugged in results in it defaulting to assume it's pointing to the Up/Left.
So, yeah.
Unless you've got a joystick/gamepad, disablize it.

It's not a joystick, it's my keyboard. I'll try disconnecting it to see if that works. Thanks, guys for the replies. :D

That's what we're talking about, go to config and deselect "Use Gamepad".
